Award Winning Children’s Entertainer
During the lockdown my daughter was invited to an online disco. This was the first time I discovered Js Disco. Like many businesses, Js Disco had was hard hit when the lockdown was put in place and overnight the business model for children’s entertainment had to change. James was quick to adapt and started to put on Virtual Online parties. As James was one of the first entertainers to adapt his business in this way he attracted media attention and was interviewed on BBC Somerset Radio, Sedgemoor FM, Bridgwater Mercury and BBC West News.
Over the coming weeks and months, my daughter joined in with lots of online discos and quizzes put on by James and they quickly became her reward for getting things done and something to look forward to. James has a natural talent when entertaining children and effortlessly keeps children engaged. In total, James estimates he did over 80 of the online events during the lockdown for local children and further afield for children in London, Derby, Sheffield, Canada & Australia!
I caught up with James to chat about how he had adapted his business. It comes as no surprise that he loves what he does and tells me he has been a children’s entertainer for over 8 years. James lives in North Petherton and attends over 250 parties a year. The parties are a mix of birthday and school events. If you have a child of primary school age and they attend Somerset Bridge, North Petherton or North Newton primary school there is a high probability that you have not only heard of Js Disco but your child has been to one of his events.
James is skilled full time children’s entertainer and offers a range of children’s entertainment using a mix of magic, games, dancing, gunge shows, bubbles, snow, balloon modelling and much more to ensure the children all have a great time.
This year, James was entered into the ‘Book Entertainment Awards’. Due to the lockdown the awards ceremony took place online. Different entertainers were voted for using a mix of 50% votes from the public and 50% from the judging panel. James’s dedication and the passion he puts into being a children’s entertainer saw him walk away as the winner of the ‘Children’s Entertainer of the Year South West’ Award. James is now in the National finals against other regional winners. We wish James our best wishes and good luck in the hope that he becomes crowned the UK Children’s Entertainer of the year.
If you have a child who would enjoy some top class entertainment for a special event or as a weekend treat with friends. Give James a call and arrange one of his virtual online shows. Once the lockdown has lifted, James is available to offer a range of entertainment including bouncy castles, popcorn machines and much more which compliment his shows.
