Our mayor, Alan Bradford, has kindly donated a tree and a bench to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

As the soil on Willstock Way is solid clay the tree planting was made more difficult, and so a JCB was used to remove some clay and replace it with some good quality topsoil. There will be a concrete base for the bench and a commemorative stone added too. This will give the Wilstock and Stockmoor community a place to commemorate all service men & women who have given their lives or their health to protect us.

Hopefully this can be used as a local socially distanced gathering point to show our appreciation for those ex-servicemen/women on the 11th November this year.
